Terms of Service
Last updated: 17 August 2026
These terms cover using Lumora, whether as a host who creates an event or as a guest who scans a QR code and shoots. By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use Lumora.
The service
Lumora gives each guest device one digital disposable camera. A host creates an event and shares a QR code; each device that scans it gets a browser camera with 35 frames and no preview, and every photo is revealed together in one gallery at the host's chosen moment.
Lumora runs in the browser. There is no app to install, and guests do not create accounts.
Accounts and sign-in
Hosts sign in with a six-digit code sent to their email address. There is no password. Anyone with access to your inbox can sign in as you, so keep it secure and tell us promptly if you think someone else has reached your account.
You are responsible for everything done from your account, and for keeping your email address current. If we cannot email you a code, we cannot let you in.
Events, payment, and activation
- Drafts
- A new event starts as a draft. Drafts are editable and deletable, and their QR codes do not work yet.
- Payment
- Events are activated by payment over QRIS. A payment request expires after 60 minutes; if it does, the event stays a draft and you can request a new one.
- Activation
- We activate an event only after our payment provider confirms the payment, either at your configured start time or immediately if you set none.
- Closing
- An event closes at your gallery-availability end, or whenever you close it early. Closing stops uploads immediately.
Refunds are covered separately in the Refund Policy.
The 35-frame roll
Each device gets 35 frames for an event. A frame is only spent once Lumora has verified that a valid photo arrived. A failed or interrupted upload returns the frame to the roll.
The limit is per device, not per person. A guest who clears their browser storage, or who picks up a second phone, gets a new camera with a fresh 35. The limit is a design choice, and Lumora does not promise that one person can only ever shoot one roll.
Your content
Photos taken at an event belong to the people who took them and the host who ran it. Lumora does not claim ownership of them.
You grant us the limited permission we need to run the service: to store your photos, process them, generate gallery-sized versions, and deliver them to the people your event settings allow. That permission exists for operating Lumora and nothing else. We do not use your photos for marketing or to train machine-learning models.
Acceptable use
Do not use Lumora to capture, upload, or share:
- Content that is unlawful, or that sexualises children in any way.
- Photographs of people taken where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy, such as bathrooms or changing rooms.
- Content that harasses, threatens, defames, or intimidates someone.
- Content you have no right to share, including other people's copyrighted work.
Do not try to break the service: do not probe or bypass access controls, scrape galleries automatically, try to defeat the frame limit at scale, or upload malicious files.
We may suspend or remove an event, a camera, or an account that breaks these rules, and where the law requires it we will report illegal content.
Hosts, guests, and moderation
The host runs the event and moderates it. A host can see every photo before guests do, hide a photo, delete a photo permanently, clear a guest's display name, and download every photo.
Guests can report a photo. A report reaches the host's dashboard for review; it does not automatically hide anything. Lumora does not moderate event content automatically, and we do not review galleries proactively.
If you are a host, you are responsible for the event you run, for telling your guests that photos are being taken, and for having the permission you need to collect and share them.
Uploads and technical limits
Lumora accepts JPEG and WebP images up to 10 MiB, with a longest edge of no more than 8,192 pixels. The camera compresses what it captures before uploading. Photos that cannot be decoded or that fail verification are rejected, and their frame is returned.
Lumora needs camera access in your browser to work, and depends on your device and connection. We cannot guarantee that every phone, browser, or venue's network will cooperate.
Retention and deletion
An event's media is kept for 30 days after the event starts, and is then permanently deleted along with the guest display names attached to it. Storage cannot be extended beyond this period.
Download the photos you want to keep before that window ends. Expired events cannot be restored.
Availability and warranties
Lumora is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it running through your event, but we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every photo will be captured, uploaded, or preserved.
Lumora is not a replacement for a professional photographer. If your event cannot afford to lose its photographs, do not rely on Lumora alone.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Lumora is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost photographs, lost data, or lost opportunities arising from your use of the service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the event in question.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using Lumora at any time, and hosts may close an event early or delete a draft. We may suspend or terminate access where these terms are broken, where the law requires it, or where continuing would put other people using Lumora at risk.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service means you accept the updated version, and the revision date at the top of this page always reflects the current one.
