Questions and answers

Last updated: 17 August 2026

Common questions, first about shooting as a guest, then about running an event as a host. If yours isn't here, write to myansstudio@gmail.com.

For guests

Do I need to install anything?

No. Scan the QR code and the camera opens in your phone's browser. There's no app, no sign-up and no account.

Why can't I see the photo I just took?

Lumora is a disposable camera. You get a flash and the screen dims for a moment to confirm the shot, then the photo stays hidden until the host reveals the album. At that point every photo from the event appears at once.

How many photos do I get?

Thirty-five, the same as a roll of film. A frame is only used up once the photo reaches our server, so if an upload fails you keep that frame.

I used all my frames. Can I get more?

Not on that camera. The roll is limited on purpose, so people think about the shot before they take it. Hosts can't add frames to a guest's roll either.

Does the photo show where I was?

No. Lumora removes location data from every photo.

Do I have to give my name?

No. The display name is optional and we don't verify it. It labels the photos from your camera so the album can credit you. Leave it blank to stay anonymous.

Who sees my photos?

The host sees every photo and can hide or delete any of them. Other guests see the gallery after the reveal, if the host allows guest access. Search engines don't index galleries, and you need the direct link or a passcode to open one. They're never public.

Can I have my photo removed?

Use the report control on the photo in the gallery. It raises the photo for the host to review. The host runs the event and controls what stays in it.

Can I download the pictures?

Only if the host turned guest downloads on. When they have, you can save a photo at a time, and often the roll you shot or the whole gallery in one go.

What if I close the browser or lose my phone?

Photos you already took are safe. They are on our servers, not your phone. But your camera lives in that browser's storage, so clearing it or switching phones gives you a new, empty 35-frame roll rather than your old one.

For hosts

How do I set an event up?

Sign in with your email, create the event, choose when photos develop, pay to activate it, and print the QR code for your tables. Guests do the rest.

How do I sign in? I never set a password.

There isn't one. We email you a six-digit code that is good for ten minutes, and you exchange it for a session.

When do the photos appear?

Whenever you choose: live as they are taken, at a time you schedule, or the next morning. The next morning suits weddings: everyone wakes up to the album.

Can I see the photos before my guests do?

Yes. You see everything from your dashboard, and you can hide or permanently delete anything before the gallery opens.

Who can open my gallery?

Either anyone with the unlisted link, or only people with the passcode. Your choice. If a link or passcode gets somewhere it shouldn't, you can rotate it and the old one stops working.

What do the photos I download look like?

The same pictures your guests saw in the gallery, at the size a disposable camera actually gives you: roughly what a lab hands back from a roll of 35mm. They print well at 4×6 and 5×7, which is the size prints come back in.

We don't keep a larger master. A disposable camera resolves only so much through a plastic lens, and we'd rather give you the real thing than a phone photo wearing a film look.

How do I download everything?

One button on your event. We pack the whole event into a ZIP and hand it straight over. That takes a moment for most events. A very large event arrives as a few files instead of one, so a dropped connection only costs you one of them. The links last a week, and you can make them again any time before the event is deleted.

Can guests download photos too?

That's your call, per event. You can switch guest downloads off, allow one photo at a time, or let guests save the whole gallery. When the gallery is open to them, anyone who shot photos can also save just the roll they took.

How long do you keep everything?

Media is kept for 30 days after the event starts, then permanently deleted: every photo, every copy, and guest names. Storage cannot be extended past that, so download what you want to keep well before the deadline.

What happens if a guest reports a photo?

It appears in your dashboard for review. Reporting does not hide the photo automatically. The decision is yours.

Can one guest use more than 35 frames?

The limit is per device, so someone who clears their browser or picks up another phone will get a fresh roll. The limit is there for the feel of it and does not verify who is shooting.

How do I pay, and can I get a refund?

Payment is over QRIS, and the request expires after 60 minutes if unpaid. Refunds are reviewed individually. See the Refund Policy for when they apply.

Can I stop an event early?

Yes. Closing an event stops uploads immediately and ends guest gallery access.

Should Lumora replace my photographer?

No. It catches the candid angles a photographer never will: the table at 1am, the view from the back. But it runs on your guests' phones and browsers. Use it as a second camera alongside yours.

Still stuck?

Message us on WhatsApp at +62 851 2804 0456, which is fastest if your event is running right now, or email myansstudio@gmail.com. Either way, tell us the event name and roughly when it ran; the contact page lists what else is worth including.

The Privacy Policy and Terms of Service cover the formal details.
